ABOUT HEATHFIELD BAPTIST CHURCH.

Heathfield Baptist Church (HBC) is based in Heathfield in the Southern Suburbs of the Western Cape.

At HBC we are a tight family community of believers, offering something for everyone. Whether you’re visiting out church for the first time, or searching for a new place to call your spiritual home, we are sure that HBC is a place you can come home to!

We would like to extend a heartfelt invitation for you to join us at one of our services.  The atmosphere is friendly, our worship team ensures a happy combination of new and old, and our goal is to help you grow in your personal relationship with God and his people.  There are various groups that convene and accommodate for all walks of life and we have placed a special emphasis on growing our families in the church.

We believe in planting the seed in our Youth, who are our future leaders. The nurturing takes place in Sunday School, Bible Study, Prayer Group, Junior Youth, Senior Youth and Young Adults, we see how God is blessing them with the necessary growth and we give all Glory to God for this.

In 1984, Pastor Gerald Malan started a fellowship in his home in Avery Road, Heathfield with his wife, Jean and 8 other ladies.  The church moved into the Heathfield Primary school where it grew until the official opening of the church building in Roscommon Road, Heathfield on 2 November 1996.

God gave Pastor Gerald Malan a verse from Habakkuk 1:5

“… for I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe …”

Pastor Gerald Malan led the church for 23 years and in July 2007 he handed the baton of leadership to Pastor James October and his wife Portia.

We have already seen much growth over the past years with our exceptionally spirited leaders, who is taking the family in leaps and bounds to new heights.

The Vision of Heathfield Baptist Church is that we exist for …

“the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God …” Eph 4: 12-13
